This cycle of four pieces was compiled from sketches and doodles made during and after the great pandemic of 2020-21. The mood is reserved and the textures simple, as if to reflect the austerity of those days. While working on these pieces, I became fixated on the celebrated series of interiors by the Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916) which provided a visual correlative to the withdrawn and muted world I was conjuring in sound.
